At Sharp Orthodontics, we’re committed to providing the highest quality orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages!
Many parents come to us seeking orthodontic care for their tweens. Often the right age to start orthodontic treatment is around 10-12; that’s because their jaws have matured and enough adult or permanent teeth have erupted to allow us to guide those teeth into proper positioning for alignment and bite. Teens and tweens often opt for clear aligners but just as many ask for traditional metal braces. We’re happy to offer both treatment options and great results regardless of which path your child takes.
We also see lots of kiddos starting at age 7. Why? The AAO recommends children be seen around this age by an orthodontist because the early visits allow us to see how your child’s jaw growth is progressing. Sometimes we suggest early intervention or early orthodontics as a way to help guide that jaw growth. Many times this ensures faster treatment times when your child is older. If your child is not a candidate for early treatment, no worries! There is no cost for a consultation, or any subsequent monitoring. We’ll make sure you know when the time is right for your child to start treatment.
And, who can forget parents and young adults?! You may be surprised, but many of our patients fall into this category as well. Whether you had orthodontic work in the past or have never been treated, we’d love to help advise on a healthy smile and bite. Adult treatment has come a long way and there is no need for metal braces. We are proud to be a top level Invisalign provider, which means that you can have the smile you always wanted with no one the wiser! Clear, convenient and comfortable, Invisalign aligners are a great treatment option for adults (and teens too!).
At Sharp Orthodontics, you will be in great hands regardless of your age! Dr. Frank Sharp and Dr. Laura Moore are committed to providing their patients with individual, personalized care along their path to a new smile.
